A view of Findhorn Marina from the bluffs. I lived and painted in Findhorn Village for three months in 2015. I rented a painting studio at the Moray Art Center on the Findhorn Foundation property. This painting was completed in Scotland and carried back in my suitcase.
Whether painting a person or a teapot, the goal is holding the viewer's attention. In this busy world it takes something remarkable to stop us in our tracks. That could be an event, like a surprising diagnosis or the unexpected death of a close friend. These events give us time to pause and reflect. A common vehicle into my psyche is music. This led me to start painting singer-songwriters whose music has impacted me. Look into their eyes. For a moment time stops. Music and memories take over.
