Artist's Description
Lucinda is the patron saint of broken hearts. She started in folk, country but has pushed herself as far as heavy metal. In order to capture her brave spirit I too pushed myself. Instead of painting her face with a brush, this entire painting was done with a knife. It was time consuming to capture her likeness. This is mostly mono-chromatic with pops of pink.

Whether painting a person or a teapot, the goal is holding the viewer's attention. In this busy world it takes something remarkable to stop us in our tracks. That could be an event, like a surprising diagnosis or the unexpected death of a close friend. These events give us time to pause and reflect. A common vehicle into my psyche is music. This led me to start painting singer-songwriters whose music has impacted me. Look into their eyes. For a moment time stops. Music and memories take over.
