Artist's Description
One of a series of figure drawings on watercolor paper enhanced with acrylic glazes. When I saw the three main figures I thought of Cezanne's bathers. That is why I chose to place them in a landscape and use a soft palette. Integrating the supporting figures with transparent glazing add mystery.. a dreamlike quality.

Whether painting a person or a teapot, the goal is holding the viewer's attention. In this busy world it takes something remarkable to stop us in our tracks. That could be an event, like a surprising diagnosis or the unexpected death of a close friend. These events give us time to pause and reflect. A common vehicle into my psyche is music. This led me to start painting singer-songwriters whose music has impacted me. Look into their eyes. For a moment time stops. Music and memories take over.
