I passed a number of abandoned bridge while driving through the Scottish Highlands. This one caught my eye due to the stunning reflection in the still water below.
Whether painting a person or a teapot, the goal is holding the viewer's attention. In this busy world it takes something remarkable to stop us in our tracks. That could be an event, like a surprising diagnosis or the unexpected death of a close friend. These events give us time to pause and reflect. A common vehicle into my psyche is music. This led me to start painting singer-songwriters whose music has impacted me. Look into their eyes. For a moment time stops. Music and memories take over.

I wonder if this was from Alloway in Scotland? I know there is a bridge that looks like this one there and I remember that because I was raised in a small town in NJ named Alloway. Your painting is great, love the texture and colors. You paint very well.
PJ Kirk replied:
Thank you. This bridge was along side the main road which now has a newer bridge. Found Alloway on the map and its south of Glasgow. This bridge was well north of Glasgow. So it must be a sister bridge. - pj
